Waste Lock® Rolls are laminated superabsorbent fabric products made from polyester hydrophilic fabric thermally bonded with cross-linked polyacrylate superabsorbent polymer particles. The laminated construction permanently encapsulates the SAP particles between fabric layers, preventing particle migration while enabling large-area absorption in a convenient roll format. Each roll delivers rapid absorption of a minimum of 1-2 quarts per square foot (approximately 9,000 g/m²) within 2 minutes.
Waste Lock® Rolls are used across a wide range of industrial and environmental applications: drum and intermodal container lining for liquid waste transport, B25 box lining for radioactive and hazardous waste, shipping container moisture control for international cargo, spill containment mat applications, and large-area liquid absorption during remediation and industrial operations. Their roll format enables fast deployment across large surfaces where granular SAP would be difficult to apply uniformly.
Both products use the same cross-linked polyacrylate polymer chemistry but serve different operational needs. Granular SAP (like Waste Lock® 770) is mixed directly into bulk liquid waste for high-volume solidification. Waste Lock® Rolls are used as liners, mats, or barrier layers where the SAP should stay in place rather than dispersing throughout the waste. Rolls are cleaner to handle, eliminate airborne dust, and are ideal for container lining and spill mat applications.
A: Yes. Drum and B25 box lining is one of the most common uses for Waste Lock® Rolls. Cut to size and placed in the bottom of waste containers, the rolls absorb free liquids from the waste stream, enabling Paint Filter Test compliance and compliant transport.
